Force and AccelerationThis lip gloss produced motion when force was applied on it. According to Newton's second law of motion, it states that acceleration is net force divided by the mass. Increasing the force used to move the lip gloss will cause it to accelerate more and fall off the table. Because the mass of the lip gloss was less and that the force applied was also small, it only produced little amount of acceleration.
PressurePressure is the amount of force per unit of area and is measured in pascals. You exert more pressure when you wear heels because of the decreased area. The smaller the area that supports the force, the greater the pressure will be. Therefore, it would hurt more when you get stepped on by a heeled shoe versus a tennis shoe.
